5th Grade

Where do Artists get IDEAS?

9/1/2017
5th grade students have been busy exploring the ideas related to being and creating like artists.

To facilitate their thinking and guide them in developing their own ideas, I asked  the question "Where do artists get ideas?"

Here is (some of ) what they said:

Nature, people, other artists, traveling, nature, imagination, their own head, dreams, visiting museums, looking out the window, books, movies, the history of the world, video games, life, real or imaginary objects....

In addition, during their first week, 5th graders worked in small groups to complete the BOX Challenge. Their goal: to turn one box into something new and extraordinary using only paper, tape, scissors, drawing tools and their imagination!
